Call (who to call + notes):
call — Open the call to-do list. Work calls are grouped by due date (Important, Overdue, Today, etc.). Items whose name starts with personal (case-insensitive) appear in a separate Personal section. Follow up and Emails to send are their own sections below. Add calls from the quick-add bar; filter with the search box.
call (name) (notes) — Log a call (date defaults to today, DL blank)
call (name) (notes), (Date), DL — Log with date and who’s in charge. Date: today, tom/tomorrow, next week, 2 days, or YYYY-MM-DD. Comma-space separates notes from date.

Undo: Ctrl+Z undo last change, Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y redo (works across leads, clients, revenue, and conversations).

Clients (CRM):
clients — Client institutions page: status, tier, cadence (R), open tasks, contacts, portfolio, activity log, and buyside/sellside interest. Open a file to log calls/emails/meetings, add follow-up tasks with due dates, edit any record, mark a primary contact, and set a relationship status.
create file INSTITUTION — Create a new client institution file (e.g. create file Legion VC)
add contact to INSTITUTION CONTACT — Add a contact to that file (e.g. add contact to Avo Adi)

Revenue:
revenue — Quarterly manual revenue tracker for KZB, NZW, ABT, and NCZ. Team is calculated automatically; each quarter shows total, paid, and unpaid revenue.

Suggestions (Sugg):
sugg — Cross-references your hot leads (Red Hot, most actionable) and live leads (live but not ready) with each name's buy-side and sell-side tracking dates, then tells you what to do next. Angles include: Source supply — a hot/live buy-side demand whose sell-side sourcing dates (Captable, Historic Sellers, Employees, CT for ex-employees on LinkedIn) are stale; Find demand — a hot/live sell-side supply whose buy-side outreach dates (B-Camp, RI, Primes) are stale; Cross — a name with both live supply and demand to check for a match; Review — hot leads that have gone unreviewed; Refresh thesis — active names with an old Macro date. Set the "stale after" window, filter by type or hot-only, tag a task done in place, or open the name / its leads.

Upload date & LR — One table: CT Date, Macro Date, Company, PPS, EV (bn), LR Date (tabs recommended). Updates Names (CT/Macro) and Last Round (PPS, EV, LR DATE) per row.
Upload logs — Paste rows: Company, Supply details, Bid (Fund), Bid details, Bid date. Creates deal records (supply/demand).
UP_SL — Demand bulk upload. Paste rows: Company, B-Name, SL Comment. Maps to Deals: Issuer, Fund, Notes; Side = Demand. SL Comment supports long text (up to ~20,000 words). Row numbers shown; paste tab/comma; continuation lines merge into previous row’s comment.
UP_BA — Supply bulk upload. Paste rows: Company, Seller, Details. Maps to Deals: Issuer, Fund, Notes; Side = Supply. Details supports long text (up to ~20,000 words). Same paste and row-number behavior as UP_SL.

Recent logs:
recent logs — Show recent supply and demand logs (Today, Yesterday, Last 10 days)
recent demand — Demand only, with a Last Reviewed date (not NR); oldest review first, R0 block at bottom
show matches — Overview of companies where a buyer & seller are within 20% or 50%. Shows the top seller (ask) and buyer (bid) fund + size per company, a Crossable badge when the bid meets/beats the ask (else the % gap), the tradeable size (overlap), and a Match score (spread + size + live status) — sorted best-first. Summary stats up top; filter by Crossable only, Both sides live, or search by company/fund; sortable columns; Copy a pair for outreach. Toggle 20% / 50% and flat / by-rating.
show COMPANY matches — Matched leads for one asset (sell→buy / buy→sell within 20%; same as view’s Matches). Short: s COMPANY m
Shortcuts: click Matches beside all, or run matches browse — same lead-matches grid per company, ordered by D-score (high first); use Next for the following company.
show all companies (or the all button) — Coverage overview of every Names row. Top strip shows totals per demand rating plus clickable Needs review / Unassigned filters; a search box filters by company or E-Work owner. Ranked by D-score lists all names highest-demand first (with rank #); Grouped splits them by Demand Rating and ranks each group by D-score (headers re-sort by D-score, R, or E-Work). R comes from the latest Last Round; supply/demand pricing shows when Deals has comparable prices.

1. What This App Does

Deal Command (titled “Notepad” in the UI) is a single-page command-line style app for managing deal flow. You type short commands to:

  • View supply/demand and last round for an issuer
  • Log new supply or demand (fund, price, size, structure, notes)
  • Calc price/EV from last round (premium/discount, $/sh, $bn)
  • Round — save last round PPS/EV/date for an issuer
  • Create/delete assets (issuers)
  • Call — list or log “who to call” with notes
  • Names — overview and per-company tracking dates (CT, macro, captable, etc.)
  • Tag — quick date tagging (e.g. tag COMPANY captable = set Captable to today)
  • Recent logs — see recent supply/demand entries (today and last 10 days)
  • Edit menu — bulk Upload CT/Macro date, Upload date & LR (CT/Macro + Last Round in one grid), Upload logs, UP_SL, UP_BA, Upload Last Round.

All data is stored in Airtable. The app uses two Airtable bases and several tables (see below).

2. Pages & Views — How They Connect

The app has one main “page” with a few distinct areas and many result views that appear in the same result area.

Main layout

  • Command box (top) — Text input + Run button. “?” (bottom-right of this box) opens this full documentation (show commands appear first).
  • Result section (below) — Shows output for any command: view, calc, log success, call list, names table, tag report, delete confirm, etc. Hidden until a command runs.
  • Recent Deals list (below result) — Card list of recent deal records. Shown after you log a deal or when the app loads deals; can be hidden with clr.
